Standards & credential integrity

A meaningful credential
has a clear foundation.

Understand who issues the credential, how admission differs from assessment, and how the public record helps you check a professional’s achievement.

01 / Issuer & scope

The issuer is ValourSec.

ValourSec certifications are ValourSec-issued credentials. The certification page identifies the discipline, syllabus, assessment requirements, fee, and validity period for the scheme you choose.

A credential covering an ISO standard is not itself an assertion of accreditation by ISO or another certification body. Review the scheme information and issuer record when evaluating a credential’s suitability for a particular role or requirement.

02 / Professional admission

An invitation follows a review.

Applicants provide their professional role, relevant experience, motivation, and supporting evidence. Reviewers record an acceptance or rejection, and contact applicants using the supplied email address. No account is required to apply. Accepted applicants receive a private invitation to create or connect their candidate account.

Admission gives an accepted candidate permission to proceed with enrollment. It does not award a credential, guarantee an exam result, or replace the examination requirements.

03 / Examination

Assessment determines the outcome.

An accepted application and active enrollment are required to start a new examination. The scheme page publishes the exam duration and passing score. Candidates must follow the instructions for their assessment and submit their own work.

Preparation content supports learning. Completion of a course or a set of lessons does not award certification. Exam integrity checks and review processes help protect the credential record.

04 / Ethical practice

Professional judgment matters.

  • Represent your work accurately. Submit truthful experience, evidence, and identity information.
  • Work within authorization. Conduct security testing only within an agreed scope and with permission.
  • Protect confidential information. Share evidence without exposing client data, private findings, or access credentials.
  • Respect assessment integrity. Follow exam instructions, use permitted materials only, and submit your own work.
  • Describe credentials precisely. Use the current credential status and issuer information when presenting your achievement.
05 / Credential lifecycle

A record that can be checked.

Issued credentials have a unique public ID, holder information, certification details, issue and expiry dates, and a current status. The public verification page makes that record accessible without a candidate account.

Valid

A current credential record that has not expired or been revoked.

Expired

The credential’s validity period has ended. Check the record before relying on it.

Revoked

The issuer has revoked the credential. Its status remains visible in the public record.

Validity is shown on the certification page and on the issued record. Contact the issuer about renewal requirements for your scheme rather than assuming another organization’s continuing education rules apply.

Questions & clarification

Clarity is part
of the standard.

Ask before relying on a claim.

For questions about a scheme, a credential record, or the interpretation of an assessment requirement, contact the issuer. For suspected security issues, use the security contact on our contact page.
